Three days later (Sunning in the swamp 2)

Atteryv stirs quietly next to a slightly smaller brown drake, tensing slightly and shaking his head to clear it as he opens his eyes. Slowly, memories of the past few days come back to him and he smiles, nuzzling the other drake, Tieree. If that didn't wake him, he would nudge him more insistently when he remembered the other relevant bit about today; Marhri would be coming, hopefully with Isrir in tow, and he wanted to be outside to greet them when they picked up the food he had hunted yesterday, just before meeting the drake next to him. As such, he would continue to nudge, nuzzle, and lick Tieree until he woke enough to follow him outside to a pleasantly warm sunning rock just barely big enough for the two of them, murmuring, "Good morning," when he had settled down.

Tieree woke after a while of Atteryv nudging him to, and he pressed a scale on his chest so his silver armour appeared over his slightly burnt scales, seeming somewhat irritated. He smiled though as he found himself next to Atteryv, and nuzzled him before letting out a long, but silent yawn, slowly following him outside to the sunning rock, and slumped down next to him again before murmuring "Morning Atteryv", He sighed and stretched out "Sorry... don't mean to sound rude, i'm just tired" He chuckled.

Atteryv smiles, draping a wing over the older drake as he slumps beside him and stretches out, pulling closer and nuzzling him as he does. "I suppose it is a bit early, I've just gotten used to waking up before the gators.. That, and today is important. A friend and the hatchling I've offered to care for will be coming to pick up some food, and hopefully the hatchling will decide to stay. Didn't want to miss that.. But I also didn't want to leave you out. If he's chosen to stay, he might as well see you first thing, right?" He smiles, giving Tieree an affectionate lick on the top of his head and nuzzling into him even further. "Though after yesterday, anyone would be tired. How are your scales, by the way?" He pointedly nudges at Tieree's armor, to make clear that he can't exactly see for himself.

Tieree smiled and snuggled closer again "Yeah, I'm still tired, i'm sure i'll be fully awake soon though" He chuckled "Ah, so it's what you were going on about yesterday night, then?" He nodded "Yeah, I suppose that's wise, don't want him freaking out, not knowing who I am..." He purred and nuzzled back, laying his head gently on Atteryv's neck. He pressed the chest scale again, revealing his dull brown scales, slightly burnt, and blackened. "They're alright, nothing a few days won't heal." He smiled "I was being extremely stupid when I ran through that fire, wasn't thinking." He licked his neck affectionately before sighing happily, thinking of what was to come.

Atteryv happily snuggles with Tieree as he speaks, nodding. "Yes, he had a bit of a nasty infection, gets right against the skin and eats away the stuff that holds your scales on.. I got patches of it when I first came here, the only permanent cure is to burn it off.. As such, I've stocked plenty of aloe and a few other herbs for burns here, recently, so let me know if those scales start bothering you." As Tieree stows his armor, he smiles and gently licks his newly exposed shoulder, leaving his neck a stable platform for the other drake's head. "Glad you agree." When he explains about the state of his scales, he nods in agreement, then chuckles at his admission of stupidity. "Yes, it -might- have been better to fly over it." He churrs again at the lick and the sigh, then asks, "Are you enjoying it, then? Us, and the thought of a little family? Or something else entirely?"

Tieree winced slightly "Sounds horrible, so glad I didn't get that." He nodded "thanks, I appreciate it." He purred and nuzzled Atteryv's neck "Yeah... didn't think really, never actually ran through fire before" He chuckled "But yeah... it's over now and i'm alright." He beamed and nodded "Yes, I am enjoying it... if this hatchling does want to live with us, then we can be a real family... I've always dreamed of something like this, but never anything like how it is right now." He chuckled, not even sure if he was making sense.

Atteryv nods at the wince. "I'm glad I got to treat him.. It hurts a lot, when the scales fall out... And I don't want to think what would have happened when the stuff ran out of scales to eat." He looks down at his paws, shaking his head slowly. "Poor Isrir." He smiles at Tieree's thanks, and nods at his explanation. "Good that you're alright." When he explains that he is enjoying it, he nods, chuckling with him. "I'm glad.. And I'm enjoying it too. Mmm.. I see what you mean, maybe? You've probably imagined a mate who can give you hatchlings of your own, because you were brought up that way. Heh.. I probably would have thought that way if it hadn't been for him... A family around two males, though, even I am a bit surprised. The best I could ever envision was finding someone to love.." With this, he nuzzles Tieree again, churring quietly. "But a hatchling, as well? I don't think that's something that can be foreseen. Hmm.. So I understand what you're saying, but I like things how they are."

Tieree sighed and began licking Atteryv's neck slowly, occasionally stopping to speak. "So sad that to help someone you have to put them through pain... of course... it's all for the best, right?" He smiled and nodded "Yes. I never imagined finding a strange drake in such a strange place, then finding that he is going to look after a young hatchling, and then becoming part of it" He chuckled, then looked at him "...Not that you are strange... of course you're not... I meant..." He shook his head "Never mind... you know what I mean, right?" He sighed "But yes... I like how they are too, wouldn't have it any other way."

Atteryv sits and enjoys the licks, nodding when Tieree questioningly states it is all for the best. "Yes.. He'll likely be mostly healed when he gets here, if Marhri has been keeping him clean. The burns weren't as bad as yours, not nearly. Just enough to singe the top bit of his skin, where the stuff lives. Regardless, I've got herbs in case there are still bad patches... He'll probably look funny, the way scales grow in.. Try not to laugh at him." He smiles at the way Tieree stumbles over his words, nuzzling him reassuringly at his sigh but waiting for him to finish. "Oh, don't worry. I am a strange drake.. Not just because I like drakes, either. I lived here alone, by choice, for example. Hehe.. And the swamp is most definitely a strange place. Hmm.. I'm glad you like it, though. Speaking of.. How good are you at digging? We'll have to expand the lair, now.. One room simply will not do anymore. With a hatchling about, there will need to be more for him to explore and play in, obviously, and.. We'll need somewhere private soon, hopefully... Up to you when that is, though." He grins playfully at Tieree and nips him affectionately with the last bit, then gently moves his tail to twine with the other drake's, looking up at him as his playful grin softens into a more gentle and affectionate smile.

Tieree nodded "That's good... and don't you worry about me laughing at him, I look funny aswell" He chuckled "With or without the burns." He smirked, and then tried to laugh off embarrassing himself "Sorry... don't want to offend you, probably shouldn't have said that. Because you aren't at all strange to me." He shrugged and nodded "I do like it, one could totally live like this. He shrugged "I haven't done much of it in my life. Perhaps when I was a hatchling, but I'm sure I could try." He nodded in agreement. "Yes I suppose we will have to make more space... though you will have to show me how to make everything safe... knowing me, I'd leave rocks in the way." He chuckled, then smiled when he mentioned creating somewhere private "Yeah, we will" He purred and snapped back playfully after the nip, curling his tail slowly around Atteryv's tail aswell, and hummed quietly.

Atteryv chuckles at Tieree's joke, then nuzzles him reassuringly when he mentions not wanting to offend him. "You couldn't offend me very easily.. It would take a lot more than calling me strange. And I think you're attractive, regardless how you think you look. Don't tell me you're questioning my taste?" He nuzzles Tieree again when he mentions that he likes the way things are, raising an eyeridge when he criticizes his own digging skills. "Hmm.. I tend to do that as well. How about I do the digging, and you help tote the things I leave in the way outside? I think that would work, hmm. I at least know how to shore up walls, after much trial and error. Spent a month rounding out the top of that hill this last time.." He chuckles at this, then purrs when Tieree returns his playful nip, smile returning to a grin as he affectionately licks the other drake's snout and twists, wrapping his forelegs around his neck and snuggling affectionately when their tails twine. "Seems like you're getting bolder.. Or at least, more comfortable," he notes with no small satisfaction, chuckling again. Notably, he doesn't try anything more than snuggling, and would eventually let go and settle down to wait for Marhri, keeping a wing over Tieree and their tails twined.

Tieree smiled, relieved slightly "Good... I'm glad... things do tend to slip out of my mouth" He blushed when he mentioned being attractive and nuzzled him gratefully "I've never had that said to me... Me and... I thought everyone else for that matter thought I was dull... my scale colour and all..." He purred "Of course, you're attractive too." He shrugged at his suggestion of work "I will do whatever you want me to do, but that's probably best, since i'm not particularly helpful when I don't know what I'm doing... I've never helped crafting a lair before, never was much good with such things." He smiled, quite pleased that he was asked to help do something. He smiled at the affection he was getting off Atteryv, and nuzzled under his head to try and return it "Of course I am" He snuggled up closer until Atteryv pulled away, and stretched out over his side of the rock while still staying close to him.

Marhri entered the swamp, she had had a much more difficult time navigating the swamp without flying or Atteryv's help and she hoped the small hatchling on her back was not afraid that they had gotten lost. She craned her neck back and nuzzled and preened him saying, "Isrir...it's okay, we'll be there soon." She didn't know if she could keep that promise but she hoped she would be able to. Eventually she was able to make sight of the stretch of water she had met Atteryv at, and she smiled at Isrir, "Won't be long now..." She promised, happy she would be able to keep it. She walked over to the water and glared at the water, watching carefully for any gators. It was quite probable that Atteryv and Tieree would see her before she saw them, the same could not be said for Isrir though.

Atteryv grins and nips at Tieree again as he returns the complement, purring. "Thanks, glad you think so.. I like your brown, though. Odd thing about the swamp.. You don't see much brown here. Green is mixed in with everything. You... You're the color of good, clean earth. I like that." He churrs, nodding when Tieree agrees with his suggestion of how he could help without too much experience needed and churring at his returned affection. When Marhri arrived not too long after, he would perk up, grinning and looking around for Isrir, calling out, "Hello you two," when he spots them, quietly nudging Tieree to alert him of their company. "Marhri, other side of the pond," he chuckles, when he realizes the lair and their sunning rock were on the opposite shore of the pond. "It's still clear, just swim across."

Tieree smiled "You think so?" He smiled and licked Atteryv's snout, purring as he held closer again.

Isrir nodded, holding tightly on Marhri's back, likely digging his claws in too, pressing against her snout whenever it came near to feel safer. He closely scanned the swamp, and when they were in view of Atteryv and Tieree, he would light up and lift a forepaw to wave to them, slightly confused as to who the brown dragon was. He nudged Marhri with his snout, and chirped as loud as he could to the two drakes on the sunning rock.

Tieree perked up aswell when Atteryv did, and looked over his shoulder to see Marhri and Isrir. He decided to not get entirely involved yet and smiled over to them.

Would have been slightly in pain at the start of the trip, when Isrir had dug his claws in at first, but at this point, would have adapted to it, and not minded having the hatchling's claws embedded in her. She turned her head in the direction that Isrir was trying to get her to look and said, "AH! Atteryv!" Before waving and nodding to Atteryv, "If you're sure!" She called, staring at the water and trying to push the thought of a huge reptile coming out and trying to yank off some part of her body. She was not being very successful at it and she called back over in a bit of a shaky voice, "...you're.sure it's...clear?"

Atteryv nods, snuggling Tieree happily while smiling over at Isrir and Marhri, nodding to the hatchling at his chirp. "Yes, Tieree. I think so," he purrs affectionately. At Marhri's worry, he chuckles. "Yes, trust me! I'm far more appetizing than you, and I was lurking in there yesterday, nothing bothered me." He chuckles, nudging Tieree and nodding towards him. "I was safe for about an hour of swimming about, and if anything wanted to pounce me, it would have done so when I was distracted with Tieree, here. Just come on across before Isrir tries it and gets himself in trouble!" He smirks playfully, then teases, "And also.. If there were still gators in there, you'd have been attacked by now, they way you're playing at the edge there. Further proof. Now get over here," he shouts in a complaining tone, eager to see Isrir and not entirely happy that Marhri would doubt him.

Tieree watched, smiling and purring before finally just resting his head on Atteryv's back.

Isrir climbed up Marhri's neck slowly, nudging her to make her move closer to Atteryv, and when he got close enough, he nipped her frills, tugging on them a bit, and pawing her head. The pool seeming inviting, but somehow he resisted the urge to dive in, and instead carried of urging Marhri to carry on.

Marhri considered everything he said and noted the agitation in her voice. Her frill was still down a bit from worry, but she nodded to Atteryv and said, "I'm sorry, just...thinking about how big those things are is a bit intimidating..." she yelps, not from pain, but surprise, when Isrir nips her frill and pulls on it, and when a paw scratches near her eye pleadingly, she determines to jump in and swim over, imagining that the pond was clear of everything, just a pool of water. When she made it across she looked back to Isrir and smiled, licking him and stating, "Hmm...thank you Isrir, needed the push. Or tug I guess..." she chuckled and then turned to Atteryv, "So, I think little Isrir wanted to see your lair before deciding to live with you, either that or he never spoke up about what he actually wanted."

Atteryv chuckles and watches things play out between Marhri and Isrir, smiling when they finally reach the shore. He would pad over when Marhri turned to thank Isrir, and would nudge her appreciatively with his snout as she turned to face him. "I see. Thanks for bringing him, either way. I hope the girls don't mind gator mixed in with their deer, though we did get another stag. Haven't gotten Tieree here to try gator, so the other deer we caught will be his until we find something else he likes." He smiles unbotheredly back at Tieree as he says this, to assure him he doesn't mind him having the deer, or looking for something else he liked in the swamp. Having said what he wanted to Marhri, he would then move up to nuzzle the hatchling on her back affectionately and move alongside her, so he could climb up onto his back should he want to. "And hello there, Isrir! How are you feeling? Your burns look better, I notice, and your scales are starting to come back in, that's good. Hmm, if you wanted to see the lair, I'm afraid there's not much to it right now.. Also, that brown drake there is Tieree. He's.. I'll leave it to him to decide what we are. We'll both be expanding the lair, if you decide to live with us... And he'll be your other parent, of sorts." He would grin at the hatchling, eagerly waiting for his response to all this, and hoping it was good.

Tieree would lift his head from Atteryv's back and lay it back down on the rock, smiling at them all.

Isrir giggled some and nuzzled the back of her head. He slided down her neck, and lay across her back, reaching down to try and touch the cool water with his paw, pulling away if he managed to do so. When Atteryv nuzzled him, he grabbed on to his snout and nuzzled him back, jumping onto his back as soon as he was sure it was close enough, and flapping his wings happily when he was safely there. He simply replied with "good!", and snuggled into his scales. He stood up and looked over at Tieree. He shyly waved a wing, to which Tieree waved back. Isrir squealed happily "Okay" he said before spreading out on Atteryv's back, calming down some.

The way Marhri was swimming, Isrir would be able to touch the water, most of her body was under the water, and her head and neck remained above. When she reached the shore and listened to the conversation, Marhri looked over at Tieree as Atteryv spoke about him, she had more questions for Atteryv about it, but figured she would not want to bother Isrir with such talk, she simply commented, "Hmm...so you really like this Tieree then?" Hoping that Atteryv would catch the hint. She also chuckled at Isrir and said, "There...he really does like you Atteryv, and you get him to talk so much easier than I do. As for the girls, I don't think they'll mind much as long as they're getting food, or maybe Sallie will, she's picky heh. By the way, she misses you, guess you're good with kids huh?"

Atteryv smiles, purring at Isrir's enthusiasm, nuzzling him and looking back to Tieree, grinning and tilting his head towards the hatchling in case it wasn't obvious why he had been so excited about getting up this morning. He nods to Marhri's question, rolling his eyes and saying, "Yes, he's wonderful.. And I hope, my mate at some point. No point in keeping that from Isrir, if he stays he'll find out sooner rather than later, anyways." At her comment on Isrir's behavior, he chuckles and shakes his head. "I like him too, enough that I'd worry about him the rest of my life if he went off alone again... Hmm, the girls are healthy enough, though. Point them towards my old settlement, it's a few miles northeast of your lair... They'd be taken in there, so long as they didn't turn out like me, heh... And I suppose so, hmm.. There is apparently something about climbing all over a big drake that amuses young ones, biped and dragon alike. I know that much from my trips into the nearby towns." With that, he would carry Isrir over to Tieree and sit beside him again, affectionately nuzzling him and the hatchling on his back. "Tieree, this is Isrir, and that's Marhri. You two, this is Tieree." Leaving Tieree and Isrir to get acquainted, he would look up to Marhri and ask, "Do you have a few minutes to chat, or are the girls hungry?" He leaves unspoken that if she did have to go, it would be time to interrupt Isrir and ask if he would like to stay or not, to be sure.

Isrir listened intently to the conversation, but would seem distracted by the purring. His tail was wagging with excitement, glad to see Atteryv again. Isrir would stand up and stare at Tieree when Atteyv sat down. He smiled at him, realising he had to befriend him. Tieree would watch him for a moment before leaning forward slowly and giving him a small lick on his head, which Isrir leaned into, giggling. He licked him back, and grabbed hold of his snout. Tieree would smile and nuzzle into his chest carefully, and left his head near Isrir, giving him some attention "You're adorable..." he chuckled and said to Atteryv "Wow, I can see why you were so cheery this morning." He purred quietly.

Marhri smiled at the three and walked alongside them, "It seems that he most definitely wishes to stay with you two...that's good for him. And as for the girls, yes, they do need food, but that does not mean I cannot stay to talk and watch Isrir for a while before I leave. And thank you Atteryv, I will bring them there when I get my hands full...would you mind leading me to it when the time comes?" She watched Tieree and Isrir begin to bond and nosed the little hatchling gently before saying, "Enjoy your new home little Isrir...I will visit."
