Outside the town bar Empty Outside the town bar

The tall wolf-like creature walked out of the tavern with a mug of beer and a pouch full of coin, chuckling quietly to himself, he leaned against the wall and pulled an odd device from his belt stared at it for a moment and stated quietly to himself, "Midday..." before taking a long drink from the alcohol in his hands and setting the mug on the windowsill. He wiped his snout clear and pushed himself of the wall a bit lazily before jingling the sack of coins in front of him and saying, "Nice little game of cards there if I do say so myself, guess they didn't notice just how well I could tell what their hands were." He tossed the sack of coins into the air and spun around, letting it fall into the pack that he had slung over himself, "Too bad there weren't any pretty ladies around..." His gait was of one who was obviously somewhat intoxicated and he seemed to be making quite an effort to keep from running into things. Good drinks though at least, he thought to himself, may be a bit too soon to visit the square.

Orakk would be boredly lounging on the roof, occasionally picking at his fur. He had been intending to perform in the town square today, but some worthless human jugglers had taken his usual spot. As such, he was observing the tavern's clientele before making any sort of decision about performing there, instead. Spotting the wolf creature, he raises an eyeridge before fluidly sliding down from the roof and landing quite suddenly next to him. "Hello there. Are you one of the local drunks? Perhaps you could tell me a bit about this tavern." His friendly grin indicates he is merely teasing and starved for conversation, but he confirms this a moment later, saying, "Just teasing, if you missed it. I'm Orakk, yourself?" He is small, even for a furred variety of dragon; he is about five feet tall at the shoulder, and would bring his head down the slight amount necessary to grin at the intoxicated wolf-creature from an almost uncomfortable face-to-face perspective, giving him no more than four inches of space.

Baurrer makes no action that suggests he has noticed the odd dragon at all. Although his attention had been caught the moment it had moved. He acted as surprised as one normally would when it addressed him, even though he was not so startled, and then grinned and said, "Ay, ay....No! I'm not one of the local drunks! I'm one'a those drunks that goes all over the place instead." He stood up straight, rather easily for one so dazed and bowed to the dragon before saying, "Greetings to you big friendly....furry...lizard. I am Baurrer, pleasure to make your acquaintance. Forgive my...less than...give me a moment." He had to think about his greeting due to his drunken state and then just resorted to, "Hehe...I had too much to drink. Won a lot at cards I did, anyways forgive that." He did not seem to mind Orakk's proximity, perhaps because he was not himself, perhaps because of Orakk's smaller size or perhaps another reason. "But joking aside, I am not a drunk. I tell stories." He pulled out a journal and opened it to show the dragon the writing in it. "You're an odd little one aren't you..." he commented, suddenly seeming much more composed. He gently ruffled the dragon's fur and then pulled his hand back as if afraid it would bite.

Orakk chuckles at Baurrer's jest, then nods amiably at his introduction. "I'm Orakk, like I just said. You can address me by that, if you like." He grins wider as Baurrer states the obvious, then looks interested when he mentions he is a storyteller. "A storyteller, hmm? I'm a bard, what a coincidence that must be! I was thinking of performing here, do you think the patrons here are in a good mood, or do I need to worry about a brawl breaking out? Not only might I get hurt, but blood mats my fur something horrible.. I'd prefer not to have to worry about that." As Baurrer ruffles his fur, he chuckles and gently headbutts him. "Leave that be, I just groomed it. Hmm.. Speaking of grooming, your intoxication is showing.. Your fur is a mess." He chuckles and shakes his head slowly, grinning still as he pulls away from the wolf-man's face to pace in an arc around his front, ears held high in a friendly manner.

Baurrer bows again, more composed, except for his breath, it would be impossible to tell he was intoxicated, "Nice to make your acquaintance Sir Orakk Dragon guy...and as for the bar." He had listened to Orakk's excitement over their professions while making the greeting. Now, he opened the book to a blank page and mimed writing while saying, "Met a nice furry dragon name Orakk today, he promptly went into the bar I had angered several in before and died, poor guy." Then shut his book and said, in case the message wasn't clear, "I wouldn't go in there if I were you Orakk. Would hate for that to be one of the entries in my journal, and pretty sure they'd love the chance to take down a 'fearsome' dragon right about now." He sighed slightly and commented, "Sorry about that, guess I shouldn't have taken so much money, but hmm...how about I make it up to..." He stumbles back slightly and chuckles at Orakk's headbutt and then stares at him warily for a few moments as he paces. It takes him a few moments to recognize that his expression was friendly, and his ears then straightened into a friendly expression themselves, "Nah...my fur is usually like that, never really take as good care of myself as others or my money says I should."

Orakk twitches his tail in agitation. "Pity about the bar. That's two performing spots I'm out, today. But if it had the potential to happen anyways, thanks for the warning." Raising an eyeridge as he continues pacing, he chuckles. "Make it up to me, hmm? Heh, no need to. You've saved me the danger I might have walked into." He stops and pokes Baurrer in the chest gently but pointedly with a well-maintained claw, smooth and sharp. "Don't take care of yourself? I'll have to take that as a challenge." He playfully pounces on the wolf-creature, telling him, "Hold still, I'll make you presentable," before attempting to start grooming his matted fur; many would find the process a bit intrusive from someone they had just met, though from his expression, should one catch it, Orakk views it as merely a game.

Baurrer frowns at first when Orakk speaks, as he sounds upset over the fact he can't preform in the bar. But as he is about to apologize, Orakk mentions to him that he has mostly made it up to him already just with the warning. Baurrer then grins and says, "My pleasure, Orakk. But, like I said, would hate to have to write about a friendly dragon who promptly died." Baurrer lifted an eyebrow at Orakk's claw poke, noticing Orakk's claw was indeed much more well-kept than Baurrer himself was. "Challenge?" He asked, though he didn't have much chance to contemplate what Orakk meant before being pounced upon by a lizard that was roughly his size, "GAH!" He called as he was pinned to the ground and promptly starting to be groomed by the dragon. He took a few moments to recover from shock and then started futilely trying to push Orakk's snout away, though he did notice his fur was slowly becoming more...presentable, as Orakk mentioned. After a few moments, Baurrer grinned and commented, "Aren't you worried about messing up your own fur?" And ruffling the top of his head again playfully before relaxing into a gentle pet and saying, "You're an odd one, all covered in fur and so friendly."

Orakk chuckles as Baurrer tries to push him away, shrugging at the question. "Sure, if you make a bother of yourself it'll mess up my fur. But I spend a lot of time grooming that anyways." He grins and continues until Baurrer is 'presentable' to his standards, long and formerly matted fur now somewhat straight and fluffed out where it is exposed past his clothes. "There.. Now you won't turn eyes away from yourself." As the wolf-creature comments on his oddness, he clambers off of him to sit on his haunches, shrugging again. "I'm odd, if you say so. And of course I'm friendly! A bard can't go far without charisma and charm. Friendliness is one of the core aspects of both, in my opinion."

"Odd...yep, you are. You're small, you're furry, you...." He stared at his back and shrugged a bit dismissively before saying, "Are you sure you're a big lizard? And not some kind of four legged wolf thing like me? I mean you don't have the wings to go with it, and your ears too." He flicked one of the said ears and chuckled, "Besides, never heard of a dragon bard." After commenting on his oddness, Baurrer finally looked at Orakk's work to his fur and brushed his paws through it a bit before patting Orakk on the head, "Hmm...you did a fair job Orakk. Thank you, I do look a bit more presentable. Don't think that'll last too long though...if you're so eager to preform, perhaps I could listen?"

Orakk chuckles at the question, and nods. "Of course I'm sure! There are others like me out there, I'm sure of that as well. I've got scales, too.. Just small ones, and the hairs cover them. It's an interesting system, actually, if you wanted to take a look." He does shake his head when Baurrer asks him to perform, though. "If you want to watch some time, I'll happily perform for a crowd.. Buuut, I don't do private performances. Heh.. At least, not musical ones." He grins impishly at his joke, then stretches in a catlike manner, tilting his head at Baurrer. "Pity, though.. If you've never seen a dragon like me, then I don't suppose you've seen any females I'd be well-matched to either."

Baurrer walks over to Orakk and leans against him before saying, "Can't say I've seen a dragon like you before, all the ones I've seen have had wings most definitely...and hmm you can't do a private preformance? What's the difference between a group and private preformance, if anything, I'd think it'd be less pressure. I can tell my stories to both groups or individuals." He hangs his head as Orakk asks about a female, then shrugs, "No....I can't say I have, and I would know. I would definitely have tried to get a pretty wolfy dragon lady's attention." He petted Orakk's forehead and neck taking care not to ruin his fur while saying, "Sure you'll find the one who's right for you though."

Orakk snorts and shakes his head. "I need the pressure to perform. At least a dozen eyes.. It's inspiring. Besides... One on one, I'm usually after something else." He chuckles, ears perking up again, and grins at Baurrer. "In the case of females, I'm sure you understand. Hmm.. Where there's money to be made, though, I sell things. Currently, I've a fair amount of dried herbs I'm delivering.. But I also always carry a few trinkets, things noone needs but everyone buys." He produces a few items from the air near his paw as he names them, then replaces each for the next. "Jewelry, inlaid weapons, glowing gemstones, things of that nature..." He raises an eyeridge at the term 'pretty wolfy dragon'. "And I'm not anything like a wolf.. I'm a dragon, I just have fur and ears... And as for 'right for me', I hope it's not soon! I enjoy my freedom, thank you. The thought of being with one for the rest of my life, and being subject only to her? Hmm, don't think I'll look seriously until I grow tired of walking, or until I have been, literally, everywhere. Hmm.. In the meantime, I'm not unattractive, and there are plenty of unattached females out there, eh? I'm quite popular further north, but like I said.. I enjoy walking, and exploring, being new places. Besides that, I was getting a bit close with a dragoness up north.. She's nice, but like I said.. Not ready to lose that, yet." He'd look oddly thoughtful as he said this, though, and one could tell he often considered going back and settling down, even against his unattached nature and love of traveling.

Baurrer grins and waves his hand in the air with swagger, "Ah...well I suppose that I can preform my art more easily than you then. Or perhaps it's not even a performance? Just a daily telling of old tales. Suppose so, wonder if I could pick up music and preform." He stopped petting Orakk and ruffled his fur again before saying, "Sorry just messing with you a bit. Telling a story takes effort on my part really. And I understand what you mean, people getting excited can excite you. Hmm?" He eyed all the things that Orakk was 'selling' and chuckled, "Well......this is interesting." He pulled out a few trinkets that were similar to the ones that Orakk had brought out, as well as pouches of food and spice that were rare in this area and objects that looked much more than they obviously were, if a keen eye appraised them. "Hmm. Seems we share a similar way of making money huh? It's a good way of doing so though." He listened to Orakk explain how he felt about relationships and seemed to be a bit distant about halfway through, when he finished, Baurrer mumbled, "Leinda" Before shaking his head and looking up at Orakk, "I feel the same, I don't want to settle down or anything...but I don't mind hitting on a few of the girls here or there....or all of them actually. Still I love traveling, wouldn't take any of them up on anything if they actually went for it, but it is fun to watch their confusion 'ey?"
