Plans in motion (Tavern Work 2)

Eldyn flies into town, having neglected to visit as he promised in his enthusiasm, and lands in front of the tavern with an enthusiastic 'thud', calling, "Thelissa! I'm finished!" It is slightly after opening time, but Eldyn seems to have just gotten up, his scales still in a state of slight disarray. He preens himself while he waits impatiently for his bipedal friend to come outside, occasionally pausing to glance at the pouch containing these plans to reassure himself.

Eldyn grins, nodding. "Sorry I forgot to visit.. Remembered I would have to be sober for planning after the fact." He chuckles at her cross act, stretching and pulling out the plans to show her. "This is what I came up with. It looks like it should fit on this piece of land nicely, and," he shuffles through the plans to show her the interior and underground segments, "It would be a good place to live, too, your and Tammy's rooms would be right alongside each other, and separate from the other rooms, here. And if you'll note.." He goes back to the outer view and points to the huge set of doors alongside the smaller, biped doors. "These big doors will likely remain closed a lot of the time, and provide a good access for the occasional traveling dragon, as well. We're most all loose with our coin, so it should be a nice source of business... And in the winter, you can conserve heat by keeping them closed." He blinks, remembering something he had noted in illegible script near the large wooden beams. "Also, I neglected to note.. I've found a bit of a warmwood grove, hence there being no hearth. I'll make these beams from that, and lace the floors with it. If you keep the big doors closed, the whole place should stay pleasantly warm year-round." He grins, proud of his ingenuity in removing the risk that stray flames would damage his masterpiece. (*Attaches the frontview* You will need to open it in a new tab to see the whole thing.)

Eldyn chuckles and nods, stretching. "Thank you, I spent time on it and even stayed sober for it." He waves away her claims that he is doing her a favor, not viewing it that way at all. "It's a project, and its a boon to the town closest to where I live." He grins and taps the carefully measured doors for dragons, chuckling. "And imagine, a tavern I could fit myself inside." He chuckles at her stated disbelief, shrugging. "I'd do it for any willing tavernkeeper as friendly as you. And I've had the notion of a dragon-friendly tavern for as long as I can remember.. Just needed fleshing out, and you gave such an excellent opportunity. So, have you packed and done all of your shopping? I can give you a bit of time for that, if you haven't... If you have, close up, bring everything out, and we'll move you into my lair for the time being. I can start right away, though I think I'll see that jeweler about the rest of my coin, and look around town and other nearby ones for able bipeds and craftsmen to help out before knocking it down."

Eldyn nods amiably, as staying sober was rather boring, in his opinion. "An achievement, indeed. Only managed it because I was having fun with this." When she comments that it's only a way of doing what he wants, he grins and nods. "Oh, yes. I've been saying that this whole time. But I think it works out well for both of us, doesn't it?" He stretches, nodding when she mentions she has packed. "I'll be back in an hour, you'll want to roll out everything you've got in storage, too." He walks away as she does, nodding amiably.

Eldyn returns promptly an hour later, coin pouch fairly heavier. Should Thelissa be waiting patiently outside, he would grin at her and give a small nod to whatever supplies she had assembled. "That's everything inside? Thinking I'll tear it down today and start on the digging, so make very sure! Also.. Do you and your son want to ride on my back, or sit down among the supplies? I'm going to use a bit of a pallet for them, so either would work."

Eldyn grins and nods, settling into a crouch and holding out a leg for them to climb up. "Remember that spot I told you about, between the wings and the neck? Get comfortable there, and you won't get in the way of me flying.. I'll take you and drop you off when I fetch the carrying pallet, hmm.. I notice you didn't drag your mattresses out here, I'll fetch those on one of my trips, don't have to worry about leaving a hole in the roof now.. Heh. Anyhow, climb on up, and we can get started."

Eldyn would wait until both were settled on his back before standing, nodding amiably. "It's no problem, and I'll get them, like I said. Mmm.. Try not to tip side to side or touch my wings and you'll be fine for such a short trip." With this, he would spread his wings, leap into the air, and carry them in relative silence to his lair, what had once been an abandoned mine shaft, about a mile and a half from town. Arriving, he would land much more softly, stopping to crouch down again just outside the entrance and nod to the two on his back. "Down you go, don't want you to fall off because of my lopsided walking," he chuckles and waits for them to get down, before heading inside and gently pulling them after with a hooked tail.

Eldyn grins and leads the way into the lair, humming a tavern song discordantly. He would lead them to a small, mostly segmented off spot in the wide entrance of the mine, with a chimney of some sort that must have taken Eldyn some time to construct, considering his size. "Here you are. I wouldn't go down into the tunnels, and I've put a bit of a wall there so the little one won't either.. I can step over it, you could likely climb it, but the poisonous gasses are down at your level.. Even I get a bit dizzy holding my head low for any length of time. Just a thought to keep you up here, hmm.." He wanders off to another corner of the lair to fetch the carrying pallet he had mentioned, a simple wooden contraption with two loops of leather attaching the corners. "I'll leave you two to get acquainted with the lair, then. I'll be back with your supplies in a bit.. Should take three trips or so, I'll just get it out of the way without stopping." With this, he would drag the pallet outside, somewhat awkwardly grasp the carrying straps with his front and back paws respectively, and take off with a heavy beat of his wings, powerful enough to carry a breeze all the way to the back of the lair.

Eldyn would, as promised, bring all of the supplies, taking four trips. He would only stop briefly to carry the supplies to the middle of the lair and request that Thelissa put them wherever was convenient for her before leaving for the next trip. On his last trip, he would give the pallet a disdainful shove to the corner and nod to Thelissa, smiling. "That's all of it. I think I'll take a little break before I start digging.. Knocked it down on my last trip, so that's all I have left today." With this, he would seat himself near Thelissa and nudge her and Tammy in turn, in a friendly and gentle manner. "Settled in alright?"
